i had given Fabian’s ‘Out of our Minds’ four stars on goodreads, but i decided while i drove that i would give it five. i thought Fabian’s writing style was something other than concise or easy-reading, but i am more eager to be still and watch what is happening around me after having read the book, and i feel like that says something to its credit. ‘Out of our Minds’ wasn’t at all about sitting still and watching what is around oneself.

on the corner of oxford and ouray
i heard thunder last night for the first time in at least six months, or seven or nine. A book and i were comfortably in bed. My window was open, and sometimes what i heard was the wind, other times the rain. i never regret getting outside of Boulder, if even just a few miles. The sun had already hidden behind clouds and mountains by the time i was into open country, but it was beautiful all the same. i didn’t really take any pictures, but i didn’t have to.
